Just throwing it out there, I went a bit mental and bought a load of makeup. There were some new things that I wanted to try and some things I had to repurchase. Before I tell you about what I bought I'd like to give a little shout out to blogger and YouTuber xoFemmeBeauty, for alerting me to a few beauty products that are at long last available in Australia. Yay!
Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman 'Core Collection' Makeup Brushes $44.99
I can't even describe how excited I was to hear that these brushes are now available at Priceline. I first started lusting after them when I saw Tanya Burr using them in her makeup tutorials. The set comes with a detailer brush, pointed foundation brush and a contour brush. I mainly bought it for the buffing brush though, which is amazing. You also get this cool case/stand type thing with it. Bonus!
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory $15.29
I purchased this from ASOS because it was cheaper there than in store in Australia, but then I saw it on sale in Priceline for $15. Now I know it's only 29 cents but it's still annoying because I paid more and had to wait for it to be shipped here. I like it though! I would agree with the blurb on the bottle that it gives the skin a natural radiant glow. However, if you have oily skin, put the bottle down and head for the hills, this ain't for you!
Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder in 'Natural' $11.40
Best face powder out there. Oil free, fragrance free, a good amount of coverage and cheap! Enough said.
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer in 010 Ivory $13
This is about the third time I've repurchased this concealer. It's illuminating and doesn't dry out my under eye area. The product runs out pretty quickly though I've noticed. Actually, are there any other under eye concealers you can suggest for me to try?
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in #04
A beautiful, dramatic purple lipstick.
Topshop Lipstick in 'Infrared' £8.00
I ordered some black and white striped Motel Jordan Jeans from Topshop the other day (love them), and while I was at it I decided to pick up this lipstick. It's a lovely orangey coral colour, made popular by the beautiful YouTuber and blogger, Zoella. I managed to get a bit of a discount by using a promo code I found online. I always scour the internet for them when I'm feeling stingy.
OPI Nail Polish in 'Black Shatter' and 'Blue Shatter' $9.95 and $7.95
I had been wanting to try shatter polish for ages and was cheering when I saw the OPI ones on sale at Priceline. OPI polishes usually cost around $20-$30 in Australia so I got them at a bit of a bargain price. When I layered the black one over an orangey nude, a tonne of people (okay three) said that from a distance it looked like I had leopard print nails. I don't have the time or the steady hand to attempt leopard print nails so I'm happy to stick with creating the illusion. My mum and sister bought me the blue version (which was even cheaper than the black one) today as a surprise. What cuties.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Nail Polish in 'Your Majesty'
They also brought me this silver polish because they thought it would look good layered underneath the blue. I'm testing out this combination tonight, because I have nothing better to do with my Saturday night. Speaking of my sister, she also has a blog (that she updates more frequently than me the organised soul) which you can visit by clicking here.
Models Prefer Eye Primer
I'm good at remembering to prime my skin, but always forget about my eye lids. Picked up this cheap primer, fingers crossed it's good.
Maybelline Color Tattoo in #05 Too Cool
A lovely all round pearly highlight. I threw away my receipt so I can't remember exactly how much it was but it was less expensive than I would have thought. Last time a hyped up product was released in Australia, the Revlon Lip Butters, they were pretty expensive. Don't even get me started on the price of Mac over here. So thank you Maybelline for being considerate of poor uni students.
That's about it for today guys. Wow, I think this is one of the longest posts I've ever done. I hope I didn't bore you too much! Let me know what you think!
Peace out girl scout,
